EXTRAORDINARY MANAGEMENT COUNCIL MEETING The FIM Management Council convened in an extraordinary meeting on June 17 & 18 last in Geneva. The main points discussed and decisions taken are the following: - The 2005 accounts and balance sheet were approved by the Management Council. They will be submitted to the General Assembly for ratification next October. - The nominations for the vacant posts in the Commissions and Panels were discussed and approved by the Management Council. The list of new delegates will now be sent to the National Federations. - Two new Commission Presidents were appointed by the Management Council: Mr Jean-Marc Crumière will take over the presidency of the Trial Commission, replacing Mr Ignacio Verneda, FIM Sports Director. Mr Roy Otto will succeed Mr Renzo Giannini as President of the Track Racing Commission: after 33 years as FIM delegate, Mr Giannini will be retiring at the Congress. Outgoing Commission and Panel Presidents were reappointed: Messrs Wolfgang Srb (Motocross), Amedeo Michelotti (Enduro and Cross-Country Rallies), Piet Stevens (Leisure Motorcycling), Achilles Damen (Mobility, Transport, Road Safety and Public Policy), Giancarlo Pasini (Environment), Oriol Puig Bulto (Technical Panel), Hans-Robert Kreutz (Medical Panel) and Clotilde Galy (Judicial Panel, nomination to be confirmed by the General Assembly). - Guidelines for the International Six Days’ Enduro for the organisers will be issued as soon as possible; a maximum entry fee for riders will be established. - In Cross-Country Rallies, medical examinations will be compulsory for all riders entered in order to obtain a licence (international or World Championship licence). - An agreement is being considered between the FIM and UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), as part of a closer collaboration between both organisations on environmental issues. - The signature of the Brighton Declaration in favour of the promotion of women in the sport took place during the meeting by Mr Francesco Zerbi, FIM President, Mrs Beaulah Schoeman, President of the Commission for Women in Motorcycling and Mr Guy Maitre, FIM Chief Executive Officer. (more info on the Brighton Declaration can be found on the IWG website: www.iwg-gti.org). - The 2006 FIM Congress will be held from 15 to 21 October in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. - The 2007 pre-calendar meeting, provided for in the Sporting Code to study the provisional calendars of the following season and to try to limit clashes of dates and/or events in the same country on the same week-end, was also held last week-end in Geneva. With mandate of the Management Council, FIM President Francesco Zerbi, Deputy President Vito Ippolito, Chief Executive Officer Guy Maitre, Sports Director Ignacio Verneda and the Presidents of the sporting Commissions concerned were present. The FIM promoters sent their provisional calendars, which should still receive several adjustments, as they were established at a very early stage. Some of them are published below, the others will be published within the next few weeks. Le Conseil de Direction de la FIM s’est réuni en séance extraordinaire les 17 et 18 juin derniers à Genève. Les principaux points discutés et décisions prises sont les suivants : - Les comptes 2005 et le bilan financier ont été approuvés par le Conseil de Direction et seront présentés pour ratification à l’Assemblée Générale lors du Congrès en octobre prochain. - Les nominations aux postes vacants des Commissions et Collèges ont été discutées et approuvées par le Conseil de Direction. La liste des nouveaux délégués sera maintenant envoyée aux Fédérations Nationales. - Deux nouveaux Présidents de Commission ont été nommés par le Conseil de Direction : M. Jean-Marc Crumière reprend la présidence de la Commission de Trial, remplaçant M. Ignacio Verneda, Directeur sportif de la FIM. M. Roy Otto succédera à M. Renzo Giannini en tant que Président de la Commission de Courses sur Pistes ; après 33 années comme délégué FIM, M. Giannini se retirera lors du Congrès. Les autres Présidents de Commissions et Collèges ont été nommés à nouveau : MM. Wolfgang Srb (Motocross), Amedeo Michelotti (Enduro et Rallyes Tout Terrain), Piet Stevens (Motocyclisme de loisirs), Achilles Damen (Mobilité, Transports, Sécurité Routière et Affaires Publiques), Giancarlo Pasini (Environnement), Oriol Puig Bulto (Collège Technique), Hans-Robert Kreutz (Collège Médical) et Clotilde Galy (Collège des Juges, nomination à confirmer par l’Assemblée Générale). - Un cahier des charges pour le Concours International des Six Jours d’Enduro destiné aux organisateurs sera publié dès que possible ; un maximum pour le droit d’inscription pour les pilotes sera établi. - En Rallyes Tout Terrain, les examens médicaux seront obligatoires pour tous les pilotes en vue de l’obtention d’une licence (inter ou Championnat du Monde). - Un accord est envisagé entre la FIM et le PNUE (Programme des Nations Unies pour l’Environnement), comme partie d’une collaboration plus étroite entre les deux organisations sur les sujets concernant l’environnement. - La signature de la Déclaration de Brighton en faveur de la promotion des femmes dans le sport a eu lieu lors de la réunion par M. Francesco Zerbi, Président de la FIM, Mme Beaulah Schoeman, Présidente de la Commission Femmes et Motocyclisme, et M. Guy Maitre, Directeur Général de la FIM (plus d’informations sur la Déclaration de Brighton sur le site Internet de IWG : www.iwg-gti.org). - Le Congrès FIM 2006 se déroulera du 15 au 21 octobre à Salvador, Bahia, Brésil. - La réunion de pré-calendrier 2007, prévue dans le Code Sportif afin d’étudier les calendriers provisoires de la saison suivante, et d’essayer de limiter les coïncidences de dates et/ou des manifestations dans le même pays à la même date, s’est également déroulée ce week-end à Genève. Avec mandat du Conseil de Direction, étaient présents le Président FIM Francesco Zerbi, le Premier vice-Président Vito Ippolito, le Directeur Général Guy Maitre, le Directeur sportif Ignacio Verneda et les Présidents des Commissions sportives concernées. Les promoteurs de la FIM ont envoyé leurs calendriers provisoires, qui devront subir plusieurs corrections, étant établis très tôt.
