BRITISH SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 6.9.04
06 September 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

SOMERSET rider Matt Read has suffered serious injuries during the World Longtrack Grand Prix in France.

The full extent of the injuries remain unclear and the club are expected to issue a full statement when they have all the facts. Rebels boss Mick Bell said: “Everyone associated with the club is very upset to hear this dreadful news but we must remain positive for Matt and his family.”

PAUL Lee has paid tribute to his former club Mildenhall for getting his career back on track. Lee left the Conference side to move into the Premier League with King’s Lynn after coming out of temporary retirement. He said: “Mildenhall was perfect for me and I want to thank them. I’m enjoying my speedway again and I want to stay Premier League for next season without a doubt.”
