NORMAN HYDE MEGAPHONE SILENCER FOR TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE
20 June 2006 - Norman Hyde

These new megaphone silencers from Triumph specialist Norman Hyde will add a dash on Sixties sporting street cred to current Triumph Bonnevilles as well as liberating extra power and the ‘big twin sound’.

Norman Hyde has been involved with performance parts for Triumph motorcycles for over 30 years and his megaphone silencers, like those on the current Triumph Thruxton model, are modelled on the original sports exhausts of the 1960’s. However, unlike the factory items, the Hyde megaphones are manufactured to work in the same way as the original Burgess style silencers. Modern exhausts are generally heavier and more restricting than the traditional items, as they need to meet tough European noise and emissions regulations.

The Hyde Megaphone silencers are hand made, polished and plated in England for a truly authentic finish. The only concession to modernity is the use of stainless steel wool lagging inside to ensure durability.

Hyde Megaphone silencers can be fitted directly to Hinckley-built Bonneville and Thruxton models and are designed to be used with existing Triumph centre stands. They retail for £292.58 inc. VAT for the pair.

Due to the classic design of these exhausts they do not comply with current noise and emissions requirements and are not E-marked, so they are not legal for use on British roads. Use is purchaser’s responsibility.
