DEMARIA WINS SWEDEN MX3 GP IN FRONT OF BREUGELMANS

Round 7 of the world championship MX-3 brought JMRacing to the land of expensive beer and Knackebröd.

The track of Tomelilla, located in the south of Sweden, was well prepped and the local organistion deserves big credit for a GP-event perfectly organised.

The track itself was a mixture of clay and sand, littered with big and small rocks.As teammanager Jacky Martens discribed;'' Difficult, dangerous, technical and unpredictable''. Yves Demaria was our most experienced man to be able to tackle Jacky´s description, and so he did! With a 4st. position start in the first race and a holeshot, crash-and remonte in the second race, he won both races to cash in on 50 valuable championship-points.

Sven Breugelmans suffered two bad starts that forced him to put in much energy into the race.Jacky Martens comments;'' At the beginning of the week, Sven was ill and he started the weekend not feeling 100% fit. Remonting from 35th to 2nd place finish in the first race took it´s tolll in the second race. Sven was the fastest rider during the first 20 minutes of the second race, attacking Yves for the lead. Then fatigue set in and

Beggi took advantage of Yves and Sven touching eachother during their fight for the lead. Sven had to settle for 3rd and a 2nd place podium for the GP''. Yves now leads the championship by 15 points.

In the European Championship MX-2 class, our RedBull-KTM joungster Joel Roelants scored two 2nd place finishes for 2nd overall behind KTM mounted Frenchman Steven Frossard.Joel´s comment;'' In the proces of winning last week´s Belgian open MX-2 in Kester, I injured my hand. It is nothing serious, still I had to let go of Frossard. I couldn´t keep the tight grip on the handlebar needed to spoil Frossard´s party''.

Meanwhile Dennis Verbruggen, current championship-leader, suffered a complete off-day with a 17th place result for the event. This allowed Joel to close in on him with a stunning 31 points in just one weekend. Dennis Verbruggen now leads with a 19 point gap over Joel Roelants.

Our JMJuniors Bram van Oosterbosch and Yentel Martens also put in both a good performance as Bram scored a 12th and a 10th place result. Yentel crashed in the first race to finish 37th and scored a 21th position in the second race on this difficult track.Jacky comment`s''I am pleased with the result of Bram and Yentel.They both showed good fighting spirit, made the most of their races and learned from the experiënce''.
