KTM TAKES 24 HOUR CHALLENGE IN ALABAMA
06 June 2006 - KTM-Sportmotorcycles AG

The fifth annual Maplesville, Alabama 24 Hour Challenge was held on June third and fourth.

With conditions almost perfect after a Friday evening shower, the 24 hour challenge kicked off at 10:00am Saturday morning. By mid afternoon, Team KTM Cyclesport/ Southeast took over the overall lead and never looked back. The team was made up of KTM Of-Road rider Robbie Jenks and friends Dustin Gibson, Allen Gravitt, Jason Chancey, Mike Grizzle, and Tommy Veator. Their bike of choice was the awesome KTM 400 EXC.

The true battle was between second place Graham’s KTM and KTM Spanner Wrench in third. The two teams were bumping wheels for the first half of the race before they started to separate. Once daylight broke on Sunday, the squads once again found themselves in a duel. The two teams raced hard to the checkers with Graham’s KTM finally edging out KTM Spanner Wrench.

KTM rider Elmer Symons was the top overall finisher in the Ironman division after racking up 36 laps. Finishing second was another KTM rider Mike Phillips, who logged 30 laps.

For the second year running KTM showed its support with the KTM Off-Road Racing Semi. The support team did a great job offering tech support and parts for all those riders in need.

Overall:

1. KTM Cyclesport/ Southeast KTM
2. Graham’s KTM KTM
3. KTM Spanner Wrench KTM
4. Team Action Kawasaki/Yahama
5. TJS KTM KTM
6. Neely Racing KTM
