And remarkably, the Ride-Away policy is free: free to the customer and free to the dealer. Until now there''s always been a frustrating time lag between deciding on a particular bike and sorting out the all-essential insurance. The new Ride-Away scheme is available for all sorts of motorbikes, from a twist ''n go and a scooter to a Harley and a Rocket, as well as for all road-legal trikes and quads. The Ride-Away policy is great for both customers and dealers. For the customer it cuts out all the ringing around trying to get insurance sorted before finally picking up the bike. And for dealers it can make all the difference to clinching a sale, because there''s always the possibility that buyers will change their minds while they are arranging insurance. Bikesure''s Ride-Away policy gives the bike buyer fully comprehensive cover for the seven days. Once a dealer is registered for the scheme, their customers can simply log on to the Bikesure Drive-Away website (www.7dayinsurance.co.uk) and fill in their details. Cover is issued immediately and automatically, 24 hours a day and seven day a week. Not only is the cover free, there''s also no obligation to take out a policy with Bikesure at the end of the seven days - although the company believes enough bikers will decide to stick with Bikesure to make the scheme worthwhile. There are some restrictions on the policy such as no more than two minor motoring convictions in the past five years (codes CU, MW, PC, SP or TS only). Also the buyer can''t have been banned or under suspension from driving during the past five years and must not have made more than one fault or theft insurance claim in the past three years. Possible additional restrictions depending on the line of business of the customer show up clearly when completing the on-line application.
