WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY NEWS
30 May 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway

PARRYS INTERNATIONAL WOLVES were pushed hard by struggling Oxford in their 53-37 Elite League win over Oxford at Monmore on Monday.

It took three successive 5-1 wins in the last three heats to give the scoreline an emphatic appearance - but it didn''t reflect the story of the meeting as Oxford put up stubborn resistance.

Wolves duo Billy Hamill and Peter Karlsson were in unstoppable form to see the Monmore men home as both went through the card unbeaten by an Oxford rider.
The meeting was delayed by 20-minuted because of heavy rain - but, ironically, the first race was one of the best of the night!

Peter Karlsson and Todd Wiltshire traded positions in a good, clean and exciting battle which brought applause from both sets of fans. For the record, it was the Wolverhampton skipper who won.

Oxford could find no answer to the top end strength of Wolves and this, ultimately, proved costly in the latter stages.

When Karlsson and Hamill repeated their heat 13 maximum in the last race it made the final score look cruel on Oxford who, in truth, needed a few points more from their top men.

WOLVES: Billy Hamill 15, Peter Karlsson 13+2, Christian Hefenbrock 11+1, Freddie Lindgren 6+1, Magnus Karlsson 4+1, Ronnie Correy 3+1, Ben Wilson 1.
OXFORD: Adam Skornicki 9, Todd Wiltshire 8, Davey Watt 6+3, Freddie Eriksson 4+1, Eric Andersson 4+1, David Howe 4, Sam Martin 2.
