SPEEDWAY 1 BELLE VUE went top of the Elite League with a 48-42 win over Ipswich at Kirkmanshulme Lane - but missed out on the aggregate bonus point. Jason Crump (16+1) and Simon Stead (13) took a maximum 5-1 win in the last race to see off the Witches. The Aces were without Kenneth Bjerre who injured a hand in Sweden on Tuesday but x-rays have revealed there is no break. SPEEDWAY 2 NEWCASTLE are facing up to an injury crisis ahead of their Knockout Cup clashes with Workington this weekend.
