Bikesure offers No Claims discount for named riders

Bikesure has launched a new scheme that allows No Claims Bonus to riders who have previously only been insured as named drivers on other bikers'' policies.

The company says this is a situation that occurs surprisingly often: people may ride a bike for years as a named driver on their partner''s or friend''s policy. Then, when they decided to insure a bike of their own, they find the insurance is sky-high because they have no NCB.

''Our Transferable NCB policy recognises the experience and expertise of the rider,'' says Bikesure''s Rob Balls. ''They may have been happily biking for years without making a claim. We don''t see why they should be penalised just because they didn''t have insurance in their own name.''

As Rob points out, the difference the scheme makes will be enormous. ''If you''re looking at a high powered bike, having a No Claims Bonus can save thousands. It can be the difference between a reasonable rate and a phenomenally expensive one.

''With superbikes, some insurers might not offer a quote at all without official NCB, because they think the risk is too high.''

Bikesure has a huge range of specialist policies for the motorcycle enthusiast, including schemes for trikes and quads. For details freephone the Bikesure quote line on 0800 089 2000, email the company at bikesure@adrianflux.co.uk or visit www.bikesure.co.uk
