WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
21 May 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway
WOLVERHAMPTON face one of their toughest tests of the season when Elite League runners-up Belle Vue visit Monmore on Monday (7.30pm). The world-famous Manchester club were leaders of last season''s championship but lost to Coventry in the all-important play-offs. They have, however, made a good start to the current campaign and are sure to stretch Wolverhampton to the limit. Aces include Jason Crump, winner of the weekend Grand Prix in Sweden which propelled him to a massive lead in the race for the sport''s ultimate prize. Wolves skipper Peter Karlsson said: ''We''ve done well at home but we need to start winning by bigger margins. ''That said, we''ll take a win against Belle Vue as a starting point before looking towards the aggregate bonus.'' Belle Vue will start as clear favourites for the aggregate win after beating the Parrys International Wolves 54-39 in Manchester on Good Friday. WOLVERHAMPTON: Peter Karlsson, Magnus Karlsson, Ronnie Correy, Freddie Lindgren, Billy Hamill, William Lawson, Christian Hefenbrock. BELLE VUE: Kenneth Bjerre, Joe Screen, Simon Stead, James Wright, Jason Crump, Phil Morris, Tom Madsen.
