PUBLIC ENEMY THORP IN SHOCK GUEST BOOKING!SHEFFIELD PIRTEK TIGERS v KING’S LYNN STARSPREMIER LEAGUETHURSDAY SEPTEMBER 2 – 7.45

SHEFFIELD have shocked fans with the booking of big rival Paul Thorp to deputise for injured skipper Sean Wilson against King’s Lynn on Thursday. Thorp is the man Tigers fans love to hate but the club’s co-promoter Neil Machin is hoping that can be brushed aside for the night. He said: “We welcome Thorpy into the team and his appearance certainly adds spice to the fixture. I’m sure the news will raise a few eyebrows!” ''I understand that Paul has very often been the villan but hopefully tonight he will turn into the hero for us. ''Paul stages his testimonial meeting at Hull on September 22 and will be as keen as mustard to score some points for us tonight. ''King''s Lynn will prove to be tough opposition as they are a team with three former Sheffield ridersin Adam Allott, Paul Lee and Trevor Harding. ''The last time we met them home and away there was some great speedway which would have provided a fine show for TV and I expect nothing different tonight and at their place on Saturday in the return.'' Tigers will again operate the rider replacement facility for Andrew Moore and King''s Lynn are without Aussie Kevin Doolan. They too will share his rides amongst colleagues under rider-replacement rules.

TIGERS: Paul Thorp, Andrew Moore R/R, Richard Hall, Ricky Ashworth, Andre Compton, James Birkinshaw, Ben Wilson. KING''S LYNN: Tomas Topinka, James Brundle, Shaun Tacey, Adam Allott, Kevin Doolan R/R, Paul Lee, Trevor Harding.
