SWINDON 47 WOLVES 43 WOLVES went close to ending Swindon''s recent impressive run of form - but at the crucial moment there was no way past home skipper Leigh Adams. The visitors made a mockery of the Robins'' results of late as they more than held their own, and but for a five race spell between Heats 8 and 13 when Swindon scored 20 points it could easily have been an away win with the home side vulnerable at reserve without Adrian Miedzinski. With Adams in unstoppable form the Wolves heat-leaders were unable to dominate procedings, but reserve Christian Hefenbrock was in tremendous form and shared in three 5-1s, including a maximum return in Heat 8 which put Wolves in front by two points. However, a major setback followed when Mads Korneliussen partnered Adams to a 5-1 in Heat 10, the Dane just getting the better of Fredrik Lindgren for second place. Wolves just failed to hit back immediately as Lee Richardson passed Magnus Karlsson for second spot on the final bend of Heat 11, and Swindon then took nine points from the next two races to virtually secure the win. Hefenbrock and Lindgren made them wait for their success by notching maximum points in the penultimate heat, but although Richardson found himself at the back in the decider there was a certain inevitability about Adams'' match-clinching win. SWINDON: Leigh Adams 14+1, Lee Richardson 9, Mads Korneliussen 6+1, Renat Gafurov 6+1, Sebastian Ulamek 6, Sebastian Alden 6, James Brundle 0. WOLVES: Christian Hefenbrock 11+1, Peter Karlsson 10, Fredrik Lindgren 9+2, Billy Hamill 5+1, Magnus Karlsson 4, William Lawson 2+1, Ronnie Correy 2+1.
