WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY: MATCH OFF + PREVIEW
17 May 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway

WOLVERHAMPTON''s Elite League match at Oxford on Wednesday was postponed shortly after 2pm due to adverse weather conditions.
Heavy rain moved into the Cowley area after lunch and the forecast indicated no break in the conditions, so the Cheetahs promotion took the early decision to call the meeting off.

Wolves now prepare for Thursday''s trip to Swindon, with William Lawson taking over at reserve. Ben Wilson was lined up to race at Oxford, but he will be in action for his Premier League club Sheffield on Thursday. Meanwhile Ronnie Correy faces the team for whom he started the season, as a short-term replacement for Renat Gafurov.
Gafurov and Lee Richardson are both back in the Robins'' team after missing last week''s win over Coventry, but Swindon will be without high-scoring reserve Adrian Miedzinski due to a round of the Polish Under-21 Team Championship at Rzeszow. With club No.8 Ritchie Hawkins racing for Workington at Redcar, Robins boss Alun Rossiter has yet to declare who will fill in for the Pole.

This will be Wolves'' first Elite League ''B'' fixture of the season having gone down by ten points at the Wiltshire venue back in March.
SWINDON: Leigh Adams, Mads Korneliussen, Renat Gafurov, Sebastian Ulamek, Lee Richardson, TBC, Sebastian Alden.
WOLVES: Peter Karlsson, Magnus Karlsson, Ronnie Correy, Fredrik Lindgren, Billy Hamill, William Lawson, Christian Hefenbrock.
