WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY NEWS
14 May 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway

HAMILL IN RETURN BOOST

BILLY Hamill has declared himself fit for Wolverhampton''s vital Elite League clash with Poole at Monmore Green on Monday (7.30pm).

The 1996 world champion took last week off after suffering burns in a crash with Reading''s Matej Zagar but is now ready to return to the saddle.

There is still, however, concern over talented Swedish youngster Freddie Lindgren because of internal bleeding in his leg and a decision will be made after his world under-21 qualifier on Sunday night.

Wolverhampton will be looking for revenge after losing to the Pirates, champions in 2003 and 2004, in an early-season challenge.

Promoter Chris Van Straaten said: ''This is the one that counts. I know we haven''t raced a lot of home matches but we need to start putting some morew points on the board to improve our league position.''

Poole are without Krzysztof Kasprzak as he is suffering from a shoulder injury.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Peter Karlsson, Magnus Karlsson, Ronnie Correy, Freddie Lindgren (IF FIT), Billy Hamill, William Lawson, Christian Hefenbrock.

POOLE: Bjarne Pedersen, Craig Boyce, Grzegorz Walasek, Antonio Lindback, Krzysztof Kasprzak R/R, Jonas Davidsson, Daniel Davidsson.

FREDDIE FIGHTS THE PAIN IN WORLD BID

WOLVERHAMPTON fans and management alike will be keeping a close eye on developments in the world under-21 quarter-finals today (Sunday).

Injured ace Freddie Lindgren, who missed the mid-week action at Arena-Essex and Ipswich with internal bleeding in his right leg, rides at Holsted in Denmark.

He said: ''I''m riding. It''s my last chance in this championship because of my age and I''ve been having some extensive treatment through the week.''

HOLSTED LINE-UP: Rene Lehtinen (Finland), Henrik Moller (Denmark), Ricky King (Sweden), Joni Jeskinen (Finland), Sebastian Alden (Sweden), Jan Gravesen (Denmark), Remi Ueland (Norway), Patrick Hougaard (Denmark), Sebastian Bengtsson (Sweden), Aarni Heikkila (Finland), Antonio Lindback (Sweden), Robert Petterson (Sweden), Morten Risager (Denmark), Carl John Raugstad (Norway), FREDDIE LINDGREN (Sweden), Lars Hansen (Denmark).
