HAPPY 40TH FLORIAN!

Shinya Nakano''s mechanic, Florian Ferracci, celebrated his 40th birthday today in Shanghai, where the Kawasaki Racing Team is preparing for Sunday''s Grand Prix of China.

Florian was hoping his birthday would go unnoticed, as he hadn''t mentioned it to his team colleagues, but he reckoned without a tip off from Team Secretary, Lilly Baran, which arrived early enough for the team to organise a suitable birthday cake and a bottle of champagne with which to celebrate the occasion.

''This is a big surprise, because I thought nobody knew it was my birthday,'' said Florian, as Kawasaki hospitality manager, Maria Goncalves, presented him with his cake. ''I guess someone must have remembered, because I didn''t tell anyone. You can''t keep anything secret in this team! But, it was a nice surprise and a good way to mark my 40th birthday.''
