WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY: MATCH PREVIEW
09 May 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway

PARRYS International Wolves have a major fitness doubt over American star Billy Hamill ahead of their trip to Arena-Essex on Wednesday.

Hamill is still struggling with a serious burn to his thigh after his clash with Matej Zagar in the recent home win over Reading, and athough he was prepared to ride in Monday''s postponed Ipswich match he scored just four (paid five) in Poland at the weekend and decided not to race in Sweden on Tuesday.

Promoter Chris Van Staaten said: ''I very much doubt whether we''ll see him at Arena and Ipswich. He had a poor meeting in Poland and wants to get himself right - but at the same time he just wants to race!''

The match at Purfleet sees Wolves come up against club asset Mikael Max, who is back in the Elite League after his serious thigh injury of last year. Max will be making his Hammers debut as a replacement for short-term signing Andreas Jonsson, and his first race back in this country will see him face his brothers Peter and Magnus Karlsson!
Another ex-Wolf in the home line-up is Steve Johnston, who skippers the Hammers after having the same role at Monmore last year.

ARENA-ESSEX: Mikael Max, Henning Bager, Leigh Lanham, Steve Johnston, Joonas Kylmakorpi, Paul Hurry, Mariusz Puszakowski.

WOLVES: Peter Karlsson, Magnus Karlsson, Ronnie Correy, Freddie Lindgren, Billy Hamill or r/r, William Lawson, Christian Hefenbrock.
