BIKING ABROAD? BIKESURE OFFERS FULL COVER FOR FREE - FOR 90 DAYS
13 May 2006 - Bikesure
How much cover does your Green Card deliver? And for how long?
Bike insurance specialist Bikesure has extended its UK insurance to free full overseas cover in Green Card Scheme countries for up to 90 days a year. The extension - included automatically as part of the annual premium - is designed with the increasing number of touring bikers in mind, and offers all the cover of the UK policy for any number of trips. All you need to do is tell Bikesure that you want the Green Card at the time you take out the policy, and the 90 days overseas cover is included. The cover is to the same high level as in the UK, there is no extra charge and there is no additional application form. ''Too often the standard Green Card cover only gives 30 days'' basic RTA [Road Traffic Accident] insurance, and sometimes third party cover (depending on which country they are in). If the bike is stolen, or if they have an accident and are tied in a local legal difficulty, riders can find themselves without the cover they were expecting back in the UK'', says Robert Balls of Bikesure. The Bikesure Green Card scheme solves not only this problem, but also the question of insurance for longer trips. ''Bikers who only occasionally travel outside the UK shouldn''t have to pay extra for the privilege,'' says Robert Balls. ''And it''s too easy to exceed a month abroad. A couple of holidays earlier in the year and some cross-channel day trips in the summer, for example, and you may forget the number of days you''ve spent abroad in the year - until it comes to a claim.'' ''So we''ve enhanced Bikesure''s cover to 90 days - that should be more than most UK-based bikers need.'' Bikesure has a huge range of specialist policies for the motorcycle enthusiast, including schemes for trikes and quads.
