The french David Casteu wins the second stage

The French David Casteau (TM 525) wins the second stage, Monte Romano-Monte Romano (98 km), dethroning in the provisional classification the world champion Marc Coma, winner of yersterday’s prologue. The French champion from the Monaco Federation, leader of the World Championship classification after the events in Argentina and Tunisia, has also interrupted the absolute domination of the KTM’s for the first time in the Sardinian Rally. The advantage is of just 12”73, with the great Coma in the second position and the Italian Matteo Graziani (KTM, Il Team of Enzo Campione) in the third position, the latter in the search of his fifth victory in a row in Sardinia.

Behind Graziani the Norwegian Pål Anders Ullevålseter (KTM Rallye 525 ) 47''46 and the Italian Mauro Sant (TM). Among the surprises of the day the extraordinary test and 9th place for Fabio Fasola, veteran of the Rally di Sardegna where he is also the leader of a powerful KTM team. Right before him, we find another member of Fasola’s team, the real surprise of the second day of the Rally, the Sardinian Luca Manca (Moto Club Sorso), with his 8th place, that is there to confirm superb achievements his last year.

The Rally will land tomorrow, Monday, in Sardinia for the third stage Cagliari-Gavoi (273 km) but before the start, at the arrival in Cagliari the pilots of the big caravan will be presented to the public in the central Via Roma of the Sardinina capital.

From tomorrow Marc Coma, who won last year’s edition of the Rally di Sardegna, will have to defend his title against the competitors who are determined to win points in the third event of the World Cup Championship.

Assistance Area in Escalaplano, Campo Sportivo Comunale. The trail will curl along the historical region of Sarrabus-Gerrei, before entering Barbagia in order to pass the night close to the shores oflLago Taloro and get some rest before the fourth stage.
