BRITISH SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 30.8.04
30 August 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

SHEFFIELD''S long search for an away win this season finally ended at Newport in a dramatic finale on Sunday afternoon.

A 5-0 in the penultimate heat put the home side in control, but the unbeaten Craig Watson was excluded for delaying the start of Heat 15. With Mads Korneliussen penalised for tape-touching, the Tigers duo took the points they needed for their first away win - at the eleventh attempt.

RISING star James Wright made a triumphant return to Buxton on Sunday afternoon by reeling off yet another maximum. Wright lifted the Conference League Riders'' Championship at Rye House on Saturday and celebrated in style as the Hitmen defeated Wimbledon. Second-placed Mark Burrows was not so fortunate, being taken to hospital after a crash in the same meeting.
