MARK Loram, Britain''s last world champion, makes his first Monmore appearance of the season for new club Ipswich on Monday (7.30pm). Loram, who rode for Wolverhampton in 1998 and won the sport''s ultimate prize two years later, is still regarded as one of the most spectacular riders in the world. His all-action style makes him a crowd pleaser wherever he goes and his clashes with the likes of Peter Karlsson and Billy Hamill will be worth the admission money along. And Loram has revealed how he enjoyed his year with Wolves - despite not scoring the points expected of him. He said: ''I had a good time there, everything about the club is professional and the track is always well prepared. ''It was just one of those years where nothing went right for me and that was disappointing, but I''ve got great respect for the Wolves management.'' William Lawson is named at reserve for the Monmore men in the only change from their narrow win over Reading last week. WOLVERHAMPTON: Peter Karlsson, Magnus Karlsson, Ronnie Corrrey, Freddie Lindgren, Billy Hamill, William Lawson, Christian Hefenbrock. IPSWICH: Chris Louis, Kim Jansson, Robert Miskowiak, Pepe Protasiewicz, Mark Loram, Jan Jaros, Daniel King. WOLVERHAMPTON riders past and present have been selected for America in their Speedway World Cup qualifier later this month. Current Monmore men Ronnie Correy and Billy Hamill will join club legend Sam Ermolenko in the seven-man squad to represent the stars and stripes against host nation Hungary, Italy and Slovenia in Miskolc on May 28. They are joined by 1997 world champion Greg Hancock, Coventry''s Billy Janniro, Brent Werner of Eastbourne and new Redcar rider Chris Kerr. Five of these riders will ultimately be selected to start the meeting.
