SPEEDWAY 1 SIMON Stead has declared himself fit to return to the Belle Vue line-up for the Aces'' Elite Shield clash with Coventry with the Bees 12 points up from the first leg. Stead missed Monday''s trip to Ipswich after suffering from headaches following a heavy fall at Swindon last Thursday. Aces boss Ian Thomas said: ''The headaches have stopped and Simon has told me he will ride barring a late setback.'' SPEEDWAY 2 CARL Wilkinson will be given an extended run in the Ipswich team starting with Thursday''s top-of-the-table clash at Peterborough. Wilkinson has been pencilled in for the next four Witches matches enabling Daniel King to concentrate on his Premier League racing for Mildenhall.
