SACHS 49ER 50CC SCOOTER
08 May 2006 - SACHS Bikes

Germany’s oldest motorcycle manufacturer has entered into an agreement with a major Chinese factory to produce a range of budget scooters that will offer European consumers German quality and dealer support at Internet direct prices.

Sachs motorcycles, which celebrate their 120th anniversary this year, signed a deal with New Superior Ltd., a subsidiary of a Hong Kong based group of well-funded investors that will result in massive investment in its European R&D and distribution hub, in return for German engineering support and in-house quality control in the Chinese production plant.

First off the production line is the Sachs 49er, a 50cc scooter powered by a reliable automatic 4-stroke motor capable of travelling over 100 miles on a gallon of unleaded petrol. This well-specified scooter, which can be ridden by anyone aged 16 or over, features 160mm front disc brake, 10” alloy wheels with sports profile tyres and top case as standard. Sachs are confident that the key to the long-term success of the 49er is the fact that European customers can buy with confidence. Unlike many cheap unbranded scooters, which are only available direct through the internet, (with no after sales service network), Sachs scooters are supplied via a nationwide dealer network, with spares and warranty support provided by a UK distributor with over 30 years experience.

The Sachs 49er will be available in yellow, silver, blue or black and will sell for just £999- on the road, including a 2-year warranty. Sachs motorcycles offer a very competitive insurance scheme through their long term insurance partner MCE, telephone: 0870 01-01-125.
