SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 28 APRIL
28 April 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association

SPEEDWAY 1

EDINBURGH have been forced into an about-turn after their proposed signing of John Oliver to replace Sean Stoddart fell through.

Oliver has instead elected to join King''s Lynn with Simon Lambert standing down from the Stars team.

Monarchs spokesman Mike Hunter said: ''We had permission to speak to him and he had agreed to ride. Geographically it makes sense for him, but it''s a big disappointment for us.''

SPEEDWAY 2

MILDENHALL promoter Mick Horton wants his team''s riding to do the talking against local rivals King''s Lynn on Sunday.

Lynn take a six point lead into the meeting with the aggregate bonus point likely to be crucial to the outcome of the Premier Trophy group.

Horton said: ''There have been comments made, started by King''s Lynn, but talk is cheap. They are not going to get it easy at Mildenhall.''
