3 OUT OF 3 FOR YVES DEMARIA IN ITALY
27 April 2006 - KTM-Sportmotorcycles AG
The JMRacing teamtruck added 1400 km on the tacho when arriving in the Italian town of Cingoli, south of San Marino.
Italians are passionate about motocoss.Under a clear-blue sky and with perfect track-conditions,appox. 9000 fans created a fantastic motocross ambiance while Yves Demaria nailed a 3 out of 3 GP victory this weekend. Jacky Martens comments; ''The Cingoli track is fast and technically very demanding. It is full of high jumps, steep downhills and it is rock-hard.In other words, it has Yves Demaria written all over it.Scoring pole in time-practice and while 3rd in the first race,Yves took care of business by winning the second race to claim the overall GP win. With a 26 point gap over Sven in the overall standings his lead seems comfortable. However things can change rapidly in MX-racing, especially when we hit the sandtracks later on.Sven Breugelmans suffered two bad starts and just could not find optimal traction in Cingoli. A 5th overall is not what Sven had in mind. Our youngster in MX-2, Joel Roelants was one of the many who busted their wheel-rims on the slam-dunk landings in Cingoli. It left him with a 34th position spot the first race. The second race Joel crashed in the second lap and had to resume from 24th position. At 15th position he again crashed, finishing 18th.A tough race for Joel.'' Sven Breugelmans comments; ''I had a good feeling about Cingoli and with a 3rd place result in time practice I was optimistic about race-day.For the start af the first race I had to make the choice either to depart from a hard spot or go over loose dirt with lots of small pebbles.I chose the last and it was desastrous. When the gate dropped I just couldnīt pick up any speed and fought back from 20th to a dissapointing 5th position at the finish. The second race I started at 9th position and worked my way up to 3rd.I tried everyting but I couldīt stay ahead of Campagnone and Oddenino.I have a more agressive riding style which is much more demaning on the tires. When I passed the finish line, there wasnīt a single knob left on the rear-tire so I had virtually no traction towards the end of the race. This cost me the two positions.Yves hardtrack style is more smooth so his rear tire was not completely smoked whe he finished the race. I know in Hungary and Rhenen the pressure is on to regain points to Yves but these tracks suit me much better'' Result MX-3 GP Cingoli, Italy 1 Yves Demaria F - KTM-JMRacing 45 2 Marc Ristori SUI - Honda 44 3 E.Oddenino I - Suzuki 36 4 Campagone I - Honda 34 5 S.Breugemans B - KTM-JMRacing 32 Overall standings MX-3 championship after GP# 3 Cingoli, Italy 1 Yves Demaria KTM-JMRacing 142 pt 2 Sven Breugelmans KTM-JMRacing 116 pt 3 Enrico Oddenino Suzuki 113 pt 4 Marc Ristori Honda 110 pt 5 Daniele Bricca Honda 92 pt 6 Saso Kragelj Yamaha 73 pt 7 Cristian Beggi Honda 62 pt 8 Nenad Sipek Yamaha 57 pt 9 Vincent Collet Suzuki 48 pt 10 Jan Zaremba KTM 46 pt Photo courtesy of KTM
