Tens of thousands of fans are expected to converge on the Isle of Man this June for the 2006 TT Races

Millions more will tune in all around the world via their TV sets to see all the action as captured by on Island motorsport specialists Greenlight Television.

The undoubted TV highlight will be the one hour programme to be shown on BBC Grandstand on Sunday the 11th of June at 1pm. Last year, this proved to be the third most watched bikesport programme on UK television, behind one single round of the Moto GP and World Superbike Championships respectively.

In addition to this, there will be daily coverage for Irish viewers on BBC Northern Ireland (available to all Sky Digital viewers) plus five hours of highlights. Meanwhile ITV Men and Motors are planning to show another eight and a half hours of highlights hosted by Bikes Aloud’s Louise Brady along with TT legend Jim Moodie and former TT rider and leading journalist Chris Moss.

TT 2006 will also be shown in over 500 million homes worldwide as part of Greenlight''s weekly
Shows; Motorsport Mundial (Channel 5 in UK), Max Power (Sky Sports in UK) and Motorsport
Asia. Highlights will also be shown in a number of territories including Australia, Hungary, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa and United States of America.

Minister for Tourism and Leisure and Chairman of the TT Co-Ordinating Committee, David Cretney, commented by saying:

“TV coverage is essential for taking our event to the world’s living rooms. Greenlight put together some fantastic footage, which shows off this wonderful event and our beautiful Island in the best possible manner, and with the on track action this year expected to be closer than ever, I am sure the television viewers will be in for just as exciting a time as those fans trackside. We are especially delighted to have our races shown on BBC Grandstand for a second year in a row, and this proved to be very successful last year and we look forward to more of this same this time around.”
