Bikesure introduces a leathers and helmets policy for motorcyclists

In the motorbike world there are two types of rider: those that have been down and those that are going down. It''s a frightening fact, but if you ride, then sooner or later you will fall. Leather clothing has come a long way since early racers strapped a bit of cowhide to their bum to save their skin. Riders can pay hundreds of pounds on top quality leathers and helmets. But better to spend money now, than wish you had when you find yourself confined to a hospital bed with injuries that could have been avoided.

As part of its push to promote biker safety Bikesure has introduced a complete motorcycle clothing policy to run alongside the biker''s motorcycle policy. Some bike insurers consider helmets and leathers just too high a risk to touch. Not so with Bikesure.

Bikesure''s policy costs £20 on top of the regular policy and covers the motorcyclist for up to £500 for loss or damage to motorcycle clothing, including boots and gloves, as a result of a motorcycle accident in the UK (subject to a £50 excess).
