SPEEDWAY NEWS & FIXTURES 17 APRIL
17 April 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 MILDENHALL promoter Mick Horton said that even he was taken by surprise at the way the Fen Tigers turned around their match with Rye House. Horton''s men seemed out of contention at six points down, but managed to come away with a 46-44 win. Horton said: ''I couldn''t see where we would come back, but the boys showed their true grit and determination and pulled it out of the bag.'' SPEEDWAY 2 WORKINGTON star Paul Thorp has severe bruising but no broken bones after an horrific crash at Edinburgh on Friday. Thorp hit the fence during Heat 1 of the Comets'' win at Armadale and was ruled out of the following night''s clash at Berwick. Without him, Workington collected a draw at Shielfield Park to make themselves hot favourites to reach the semi-finals of the Premier Trophy.
