COVENTRY 53 WOLVES 40 WOLVERHAMPTON ended their Good Friday programme winless and will face a 13-point chase for the bonus point against Coventry at Monmore Green on Easter Monday. Wolves never fully recovered from conceding two 5-1s in the first four races, although they did threaten a comeback on a couple of occasions during the evening meeting. They were 16-8 down when home skipper Scott Nicholls combined with shock high-scorer Olly Allen over Billy Hamill in Heat 4, although Hamill did then win his next two outings on his former home track. The big blow against Wolves came in Heat 13 when the previously unbeaten Peter Karlsson took a tactical ride, but he and Hamill were on the receiving end of a 5-1 against Nicholls and Harris which clinched the win for the Bees. But the battling Christian Hefenbrock, unlucky to lose second place with a dropped chain in Heat 12, got his just rewards with a race win in Heat 14 in a 5-1 with Freddie Lindgren, Magnus Karlsson took just one ride before withdrawing from the meeting with illness. COVENTRY: Scott Nicholls 14, Olly Allen 12+1, Chris Harris 9+2, Billy Janniro 6+2, Rory Schlein 5, Morten Risager 4+1, Martin Smolinski 3+2. WOLVES: Peter Karlsson 12, Billy Hamill 10, Fredrik Lindgren 6+1, Christian Hefenbrock 6, Ronnie Correy 5+2, Lee Smethills 1, Magnus Karlsson 0.
