AT THE RACE TRACK Another pulse-pounding season of Extreme International Ice Racing came to a close as Anthony “The British Bulldog” Barlow, walked away from the Rockford Metro Center in Illinois as the AMA/ XIIR 2006 Speedway Champion on February 26th. Barlow, winner of three previous World Ice Championships and four National Ice Racing Championships, dominated ice arenas in 2006, ranking among the top three in nearly all of this season’s races. In XIIR ATV news, Rich Schoelberl was once again crowned “king of the rink” at the final round of the XIIR 2006 Championship Series. “Double Trouble” Schoelberl won the event after the first heat at Family Arena in St. Charles, MO. Louis “Taz Man” Smith, who XIIR fans may remember suffered a broken leg in a non-riding accident before the Rockford round last year, finished just 10 points behind Schoelberl in 2nd place. SuperTrapp is serving as the official exhaust sponsor to Tom Carlson’s TC Racing. We also will provide financial support for two of his top pro-class riders in the 2006 ATVA Grand National Moto-Cross Championship.
