NATIONAL HARE AND HOUND, ROUND 4: JERICHO, UT
14 April 2006 - KTM-Sportmotorcycles AG
David Pearson claimed his first win of the 2006 Hare and Hound season at the fourth round in Jericho, UT this past weekend, while teammates Matt Gosnell and Kellon Walch finished in the top ten.
Snow fell Friday morning before the event, but cleared up in most places for the race on Saturday. On the day of the event, warm temperatures caused the snow to melt creating wet and muddy sections. At the start, Kellon Walch and Matt Gosnell jumped off the line in the top five and David Pearson was close on their heels by the end of the muddy bomb run. By the seven-mile marker Pearson had already worked his way up to third position and continued an intense charge to the front of the line. By mile-marker ten he was leading and never looked back during the two-lap, eighty-mile long course. His pit-stop was flawless and he continued on to win the race with a thirty-second cushion between him and second place. Teammates Gosnell and Walch pitted in sixth and seventh and completed their race in that order. This is KTM’s first win in the Hare and Hound series since Nick Pearson won in September of 1998 on a KTM 380 MXC in Idaho. National Hare & Hound Results, Round 4: Jericho, UT 1. David Pearson KTM 2.
