RR250 WCH: 2ND ROUND, RACE: QATAR LOSAIL/DOHA
08 April 2006 - KTM-Sportmotorcycles AG

Red Bull KTM GP 250 on fantastic run up to fifth position with Hiroshi Aoyama

Red Bull KTM GP 250 rider Hisoshi Aoyama improved the good result from Jerez two weeks ago for one further position to fifth place.

Team mate Manuel Poggialli finished in the points at 14th position. But was not able to get the same good feeling from yesterdays qualifying for his bike. Biggest problem for him was the strong wind, which still effected the 250 race.

Hiroshi Aoyama # 4 Red Bull KTM GP 250 –5th Place
”Today my bike was better than the rider. We were working well this weekend and improved the bike. But conditions were not easy. I believe my machine would have been good for a position like top 3 or 4 even. But I’m happy as my team is happy and I will push myself later for a better performance for next round at Turkey. ”

Manuel Poggiali # 54 Red Bull KTM GP 250 –14th Place
”Due to the strong headwinds I didn’t have the same good feeling for my bike like during yesterdays qualifying. Therefore I couldn’t follow the speed of the group in front. ”

Harald Bartol – Technical and Managing Director
“Hiroshi did do a brilliant job today. I’m very happy. Manuel Poggiali was running a different engine than Hiroshi and after his crash during warm-up this morning I believe he was riding a bit more careful to avoid an other crash because of the wind. With the results of both riders I’m pleased this weekend.”
