WOLVERHAMPTON manager Peter Adams is refusing to take victory for granted when he leads his side into derby action against Coventry at Monmore on Monday (7.30pm).
He said: ''When Coventry were with us earlier this season they could have got a result if they had more backing. ''If the Bees supporters turn out in their usual numbers it could make a difference and we''ll need to be on our guard.'' And Adams himself has revealed a desire to win 10 top flight titles as a manager before hanging up his programme and pen. He said: ''I''ve won seven of these titles at three clubs in this area and I''ve got a long way to go yet. ''It would mean a lot for me to get title number eight this year and it would be a terrific achievement for the club. However, we need to concentrate on getting through to the play-offs in the first instance and second place in the league would do just nicely. ''However, that''s not a formality by any stretch of the imagination although we are in a good position.'' Coventry hand a debut to new German rider Martin Smolinski after agreeing terms with him a fortnight ago as a replacement for broken leg victim Tomasz Piszcz. WOLVES: Mikael Max, Daniel Nermark R/R, Freddie Lindgren, Sam Ermolenko, David Howe, Chris Neath, Adam Skornicki. COVENTRY: Andreas Jonsson, Chris Harris, Stuart Robson, Morten Risager, Billy Janniro, Martin Smolinski, Sergey Darkin.
