SPEEDWAY NEWS 6 APRIL
06 April 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 FLU victim Andreas Jonsson has sent a message of support to his Arena-Essex team-mates as they defend a 24-point Knockout Cup lead at Peterborough. The Swedish star will be replaced in Thursday''s second leg tie by Coventry''s Scott Nicholls. Hammers boss Ronnie Russell said: ''It was good of Andreas to contact me to wish us all the best, and it shows how well he has taken to our side.'' SPEEDWAY 2 POOLE manager Neil Middleditch was pleased with the way his team responded to early setbacks by still picking up a win against Swindon. The Pirates dropped six points down after six heats, but pulled it back to win the meeting 48-42. Middleditch said: ''We showed true grit to fight back and take a deserved victory. We kept our heads and it was a good test for us.''
