DAVY’S WIDOW LEE SKYDIVES FOR JOEY’S CHARITY Mrs Lee Wood, Brian Gordon of Carrickfergus and Raina Cole partner of Andi Eade of John Harris Motorcycles are due to make their first Skydive early next month with all proceeds being donated to the Joey Dunlop Foundation. Lee’s interest in motorcycles came about when she was introduced to Davy Wood. They were married in 1990 and together they ran the very sucessful Team Wood stable in Northern Ireland. Sadly in May 2004 David lost his battle against cancer that had only been diagnosed just eight short weeks before. David is simply irreplaceable both as a husband and team manager and he devoted much of his time to Joey’s career as well as managing many young Irish riders during the nineties and into the new millennium. David was a strong supporter of the Joey Dunlop Foundation and confirmed that the idea of providing holiday possibilities for people of all disabilities would have been a project that Joey would have endorsed.
