SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
03 April 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association

SPEEDWAY 1

ARENA-ESSEX promoter Ronnie Russell has taken great heart from the Hammers'' strong displays at home so far this season.

Arena will take a 24-point lead into the second leg of their Knockout Cup tie against Elite League favourites Peterborough later this week.

Russell said: ''We have now had three comprehensive home wins against sides that many believe will have a very strong say in who wins the League.''

SPEEDWAY 2

STOKE promoter Dave Tattum is hoping that his side now get the chance to show some consistency after a narrow win over Newcastle.

Tattum felt the Potters had not been helped by postponements, which caused a two-week break from racing.

He said: ''I don''t see anything wrong in the riders'' attitude or desire, and what we need more than anything is to get a run of meetings going.''
