BRITISH SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 20.8.04
20 August 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association
BELLE Vue promoter John Perrin has put the famous Manchester club up for sale.
The news was confirmed by Aces General Manager Terence Vernon following the club''s twelfth home postponement of a rain-wrecked season. Vernon said: ''John Perrin is prepared to step aside if he receives an acceptable offer. People don''t seem to understand that a rain-off can cost £3000 without a wheel being turned.'' SHEFFIELD''S Andrew Moore still hopes to make a track return this season despite suffering a broken leg last weekend. Moore crashed at Eastbourne and sustained a fracture at the top of his shin, but no problems are expected with his recovery. Tigers boss Neil Machin said: ''There is no operation needed and he is already talking about trying to be back within the month.''
