SPEEDWAY NEWS 28 MARCH
28 March 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 EDINBURGH insists their Friday night showdown with Glasgow will go ahead - despite vandalism Armadale Stadium. Early suggestions from the club are that that the culprits could be animal rights activists protesting about the treatment of greyhounds after a recent TV documentary. Chairman Alex Harkess said: ''Sadly speedway, with supporters throughout the region, stands to be a major victim, even though it has no connection whatever with animals.'' SPEEDWAY 2 POOLE boss Neil Middleditch is urging the club''s fans to make extra noise when they face reigning champions Coventry at Wimborne Road on Wednesday. Middleditch believes the meeting could be one of the best of the season. He said: ''Having the fans on your side is worth an extra man in the team and I will be counting on their support against such a powerful side.''
