BRITAX GOES LED INTENSE FOR HAZARD WARNINGS
30 March 2006 - Britax PMG
Britax PMG has this week lifted the wraps on a range of high intensity ‘fit and forget’ LED hazard warning products for virtually all mobile and static applications - from recovery and escort vehicles to plant and machinery.
The 12V range includes the ultra slim LED X 2100 Mini Bar and two light units, the 3 Optix (three module/way) and the 6 Optix (six module/way). Complementing the already extensive product range from the Bridlington based IFA ‘CV Supplier of the Year’ the LED hazard warning units are supplied by sister company Code 3 that is based in the USA and where they have already won a fine reputation for performance and durability in front line service. The LED X 2100 Mini Bar – at either 572mm(22.5in) or 914mm(36in) long – clips the scales at around 6.3kg (14lbs) and comes with a choice of mount positions. It has a clear polycarbonate lens and is supplied with amber LED modules, as standard, with red as an option. Both the 3 way and the 6 way Optix units are supplied with a clear polycarbonate lens as standard, the 3 with LEDs in amber or red and with five flash patterns, the 6 way in a combination of amber/amber or amber/red and with seven flash patterns - from strobing cycle to steady burn. Optic (lighting angle) selection options vary for both units depending on mounting position. The 3 Optix can be synchronised with other Optix units that use the same three up LED driver. Compared to non LED systems, bulb replacement is never required. Rated life is 100,000 hours - potted circuit boards are shock and water resistant. Power draw is 0.5amps per module – as little as 10/20% of that needed for ‘equivalent’ halogen equipment. In Britain, all equipment is covered by a full five year warranty. The range is available from all Britax auto-electrical stockists, nationwide.
