WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
19 August 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association
THE weather once again got the better of a Swindon/Wolverhampton clash, with Thursday night''s action being abandoned despite the best efforts of all involved to get the meeting through.
Swindon led 21-15 at the time of the stoppage, having gone eight points up in the first three races before Wolves got back into contention thanks to a 5-1 from David Howe and Simon Stead in Heat 4. But it all became academic as with conditions worsening a halt was called and a re-staging date set for Sunday August 29. SWINDON: Leigh Adams 6, Charlie Gjedde 6, Andy Smith 4+1, Peter Ljung 4, Oliver Allen 1, Steve Johnston 0, r/r for David Ruud. WOLVERHAMPTON: Simon Stead 7, David Howe 3+2, Mikael Max 3, Sam Ermolenko 2, Fredrik Lindgren 0, Adam Skornicki 0, r/r for Daniel Nermark.
