CRESCENT LAUNCHES THE ULTIMATE ROAD-GOING SUPERBIKE
20 August 2004 - Crescent Suzuki Performance Centre

IF only the best will do then look no further than the new Crescent Suzuki GSX-R1000KE ‘Kagayama Express’.

With a rip-snorting 182bhp at the rear wheel, a limited top speed of 186mph and tipping the scales at just 158kgs, this is truly a Superbike racer with a road kit added to make it legal to ride on the Queen’s highway.

Developed and honed by Rizla Suzuki British Superbike Factory racer Yukio Kagayama, this ultimate Superbike has benefited from his 15-years of Grand Prix and Superbike experience. Known as one of the best riders in the world at getting the most out of any motorcycle, you can be assured this machine ticks all the performance boxes.

The 988cc in-line four-cylinder engine boasts many of the same modifications found on the dominant Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 that Crescent runs in the 2004 British Superbike Championship.

The chassis and suspension set-up on the ‘Kagayama Express’ is also derived from the Rizla Suzuki race bike and boasts a Factory Yoshimura swing-arm and fuel tank as well as Ohlins suspension.

Painted in the premium Rizla Suzuki silver colours, only 10 of these bikes will be sold at the exclusive price of £43,995. However, all the components used to build this Superbike are available to purchase individually from Crescent, allowing bike fans to customise their own GSX-R to any level they desire.

Yuki said: “This is big honour for me to have motorcycle in my name. I help Crescent to develop this bike and think it is maybe maximum performance for road-going motorcycle. Take off lights and number plate and this bike would be competitive on the BSB Superbike grid.”

Crescent is the UK’s largest solus Suzuki dealership and the organisation behind the British Superbike Rizla Suzuki team of John Reynolds and Yukio Kagayama. In the first 10-rounds of 2004, the team finished on the podium in every event and has won eight races outright.

The ‘Kagayama Express’ was launched at the Brands Hatch circuit in Kent alongside the Rizla Suzuki Caterham R500 Evolution car which is the four-wheeled equivalent of a Superbike thanks to its 250+bhp and 450kg weight.
