AMA SUPERMOTO CHAMPIONSHIP POSTED BONUS AWARDS APPROACHING HALF MILLION DOLLARS
19 August 2004 - AMA Pro Racing

KTM, Yamaha and Honda head up contingency sponsors

Contingency sponsors have posted $459,100 so far in the 2004 AMA Supermoto Championship in the form of event contingencies and championship bonuses.

KTM leads the way in contingency money available offering a total of $14,900 per event in the Supermoto class and an equal amount in Supermoto Unlimited. KTM offers over $200,000 to its AMA Supermoto riders when championship bonuses are included. Yamaha and Honda are the other OEMs lending major support to series riders. Maxxis Tires leads the way for non-manufacturer sponsors of the championship posting nearly $3000 per race in both classes.

Other contingency and championship bonus sponsors for this year’s AMA Supermoto Championship include Dunlop Tires, Shoei Helmets and Troy Lee Designs.

“Contingency sponsors are very important in a new championship like Supermoto,” said Chris Bradley, AMA Supermoto Series Manager. “We’re pleased to have such great support from these companies and this money is going to be a major help to the riders participating in the series.”

Contingency postings are up nearly $100,000 from the inaugural season of AMA Supermoto. For more information, contact AMA Pro Racing.
