21 March 2006 - Maxxis
British racing fans were treated to the kick-off of a season’s worth of racing excitement with the first round of the 2006 Maxxis British Motocross Championships, held March 12 at Cadders Hill, Lyng.
The contest went on as planned despite forecasts of rain with a possibility of snow. Strong contenders for the overall title have already emerged: Marc de Reuver offered an outstanding performance in the MX2 class, winning both races, while Ken de Dykcer took the victory in the first MX1 heat and Josh Coppins won MX1 Race 2. The next round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championships will be held April 9 at Canada Heights, Swanley. Maxxis thanks the Norwich Vikings MCC for providing the competitors with a superb track in spite of the inclement weather, and congratulates all the riders who helped make Round 1 of this series such a rousing success.
