SHEFFIELD SPEEDWAY
18 August 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association
THE Pirtek Tigers had a wasted trip to Norfolk on Wednesday night as the fixture became yet another to fall victim to the atrocious summer weather.
A dry day at the Norfolk Arena appeared to leave the meeting in no danger, but rain started at around 6.20pm, and after a brief dry spell raised hopes that the meeting would take place, a torrential deluge left the track staff no chance of repairing the damage. The meeting was called off at around 7pm and Tigers now prepare for Thursday night''s Owlerton action which sees them face an interesting Rye House challenge. The Rockets have the best away record in the Premier League with the exception of runaway leaders Hull, with three victories from their eight fixtures on the road already, and include Chris Neath - who would have guested for the Tigers at King''s Lynn on Wednesday. Hull''s Magnus Karlsson steps in to guest for the injured Sean Wilson, and Tigers continue to operate the rider replacment facility for Andrew Moore.
