JASON Crump saw off a top-class field to take victory in Sean Wilson''s benefit meeting at Sheffield.

Crump beat Nicki Pedersen, Scott Nicholls and Leigh Adams in the Final of the Sean Cracker, which drew a 3,000 crowd to Owlerton.

Crump said: ''It''s nice to win, but really I''m here to honour a great fellow racer. Sean has been great for speedway and that''s why there has been such support.''

SPEEDWAY 2

IPSWICH clinched the Suffolk Cup with a 47-43 win over neighbours Mildenhall at West Row - with both sides taking plenty of encouragement.

The Premier League outfit put in a gutsy display against their top-flight opponents, who only secured their win in a last-heat decider.

Ipswich skipper Chris Louis said: ''This has given us all a chance to sharpen up, and it was good to see a large crowd.''
