GILET AIR BACK AND CHEST PROTECTOR FROM KNOX
23 March 2006 - Planet Knox Ltd

Planet Knox has produced an ultra lightweight garment that combines CE-approved back and chest protection.

The new Gilet Air was designed in direct response to requests from riders for a combined CE-approved back and chest protector that is easy to wear under leather or textile outer bike wear.

Based around the revolutionary Contour back protector, which follows the curve of the spine, the Gilet Air weighs just 1100g and can be slipped on and zipped up in seconds. This safety vest delivers serious levels of protection. The Contour follows the curve of the spine and offers maximum coverage of the back area, including side impact panels. It exceeds the tough new European EN1621-2 back-protector standard by 30% and additional protection is provided by a covering of tear & abrasion resistant Schoeller® Dynatec material down the centre.

At the front, a fully CE-approved Knox Advance-X chest protector creates a ‘crumple zone’ capable of absorbing significant amounts of energy from an impact. It is removable, for occasions when only back protection is required, and can be worn with other outer clothing if required.

The vest itself is manufactured from arrow netting, an ultra-strong sport mesh, designed to look as cool as it keeps the wearer. A central zipper fastens it, while the Contour is held firmly in place with a dual fastening Velcro waist belt that will suit most shapes and sizes.

The Knox Gilet Air retails for £139.99 inc. VAT in sizes XS – XXL.
