SPEEDWAY 1 JOE Screen was taken to hospital for X-rays on shoulder and collarbone injuries after crashing out of Belle Vue''s match at Coventry on Friday. Screen lifted on the back straight and landed heavily in the very first race of the Elite Shield clash. With Screen ruled out, Coventry collected a 12-point win highlighted by Rory Schlein''s 11-point score on his return from a serious back injury. SPEEDWAY 2 ARENA-ESSEX promoter Ronnie Russell paid tribute to his new-look team after a resounding 20-point win over Eastbourne. Andreas Jonsson and Jonnas Kylmakorpi both marked their debuts with double-figure scores, and Paul Hurry added twelve from reserve. Russell said: ''I know its very early days but there are some very positive signs from the lads. It was a good all-round team performance.'' SPEEDWAY 3 EDINBURGH have announced a new sponsorship deal with recycling and skip hire company Scotwaste of West Lothian. The Monarchs go into the 2006 season tracking the youngest side in the club''s history, with an average age of just 21.5. Scotwaste representative Stewart Melrose said: ''Monarchs are the most local sport to our business and it is such a family sport, which my guests appreciate.''
