SPEEDWAY 1 MAGNUS Karlsson will replace his Wolverhampton colleague Billy Hamill in Sean Wilson''s 20th anniversary celebration meeting at Sheffield on Sunday (5pm). Hamill has seen his return to the UK from his California home delayed because of visa problems. Wilson said: ''Billy is gutted because he was really up for the meeting, but we''ve reacted quickly to bring in Magnus who is very fast around Sheffield and enjoys riding there.'' SPEEDWAY 2 SOMERSET boss Mick Bell is predicting a tough test for his side when they face Newport over two legs this weekend. The first leg of the challenge takes place at the Oak Tree Arena on Friday with the return on Sunday. Bell said: ''Newport has a tough time last season but I like the look of their side this time and they will give us a good test.'' SPEEDWAY 3 LEGENDARY six-times world champion Ivan Mauger will be the guest of honour at Workington''s Northern Counties Championship on Saturday. Mauger, who raced alongside Comets chief Graham Drury at Hull in the 70s, will meet the riders and present the prizes. Drury said: ''Ivan has heard a lot about how popular speedway has been in Workington since the sport returned here and wants to have a look for himself.''
