FURTHER TESTING FOR KIRKHAM AT SNETTERTON
08 March 2006 - Jon Kirkham

Following on from a limited test at Croft due to bad weather the previous week Jon Kirkham had an opportunity to really stretch the legs of his Suzuki GSXR at Snetterton on Monday

Despite the fact that the temperature was hovering around freezing, conditions were dry and sunny allowing Kirkham to complete nearly 90 laps. The Derbyshire rider said it was a cold but very productive outing.

“The team were lucky enough to be able to tag along with the Rizla Suzuki squad for what was a private test. It was freezing out there but I got stuck in and started pounding out the laps. I’m really getting my head around the bike now and with each outing I’m feeling more and more confident.”

Kirkham and the Jentin Racing squad worked their way through an intensive testing schedule on the day evaluating a number of set-ups and various components.

Kirkham was also very grateful for some assistance from some of the more senior members of the Crescent team.

“I had a lot of support from John Reynolds and Niall Mackenzie on the day which was a real bonus. They obviously have their own thing to do but they still took the time to come over and offer their input and advice. I was chuffed to bits and can’t thank them enough. It really gave me a real boost.”

Kirkham and the Jentin Racing squad have one final outing at Snetterton before the season starts as part of the official British Superbike test next week.
