BRITISH SPEEDWAY NEWS 8TH MARCH

SPEEDWAY 1

SKY SPORTS has signed a new five-year deal with the BSPA (British Speedway Promoters Association) for live coverage of speedway.
The deal includes over 30 meetings a year from domestic speedway''s premium competition, the Elite League.
Announcing the deal, Sue Ashworth, Sky Sports'' Manager of Production and Commercial Development said: ''Speedway has proved a popular part of our summer portfolio on Sky Sports. We''re delighted to continue the association for the next five years.''
Terry Russell, President of the BSPA said: ''Sky Sports has helped raise the bar with their professionalism and I hope that speedway continues to appeal to television.''
Speedway coverage is presented by Jonathan Green with Sophie Blake and Kelvin Tatum.
This season, Sky Sports Elite League coverage begins with newcomers Reading Bulldogs against champions Coventry Bees on 20 March (7.30pm Sky Sports 2).
Sky Sports also screen the Elite League Riders Championship, Elite League Pairs and selected international matches.
All ten rounds of the extended Grand Prix series will be exclusively live in addition to the Speedway World Cup.

SPEEDWAY 2

BUOYED by an enthusiastic reaction to his new book A WORLD OF MY OWN, 2004 world champion Jason Crump is undertaking a flurry of signing sessions around the country.
The Belle Vue man will sign copies of the book before meetings at Sheffield (Sunday, March 12), Coventry (Friday, March 17) and Peterborough (Thursday, March 23).
The 272-page book was officially launched in Manchester at the weekend.

SPEEDWAY 3

SEAN Wilson has paid tribute to the star names who will appear at his 20th anniversary meeting at Sheffield on Sunday.
Former world champions Jason Crump and Nicki Pedersen will make rare Owlerton appearances along with other Elite League riders.
Wilson, who will wear the number one racejacket, said: ''It makes me realise who my friends are when these guys want to turn out and race in my meeting.''
