SPEED''S GREG WHITE HONORED WITH FIRST-EVER ''AMA AWARD''
10 March 2006 - American Motorcyclist Association

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has announced that Greg White, host of SPEED''s ''2 Wheel Tuesday'' program, has been honored with the 2006 AMA Award for Media & Reporting.

The presentation, made by AMA Vice President for Government Relations Edward Moreland, took place in Charlotte, North Carolina during production of ''2 Wheel Tuesday.'' It also was the first of the new ''AMA Awards,'' which will recognize significant contributions to American motorcycling.

A native of Boston, Massachusetts, White has been an avid motorcyclist since the age of 18. From 1997 through 2002, he worked as feature talent, producer and editor on numerous SPEED programs -- all while competing as an AMA Superbike Championship privateer. His active involvement in roadracing continued into 2003, when he raced BMW BoxerCup events at Daytona and in Europe, as well as competing as a Yamaha factory rider in the AMA Supersport Championship. He''s appeared as SPEED''s AMA Superbike pit reporter since 2002 and has hosted ''2 Wheel Tuesday'' since 2003.

''Greg''s most valuable contribution is that he introduces his viewers to people and places throughout the motorcycling community -- from street to off-road, from recreation to competition,'' said Patricia DiPietro, AMA Chief Executive Officer. ''The AMA is pleased to recognize him not only for his excellent coverage, but also for helping to expand the definition of ''American motorcycling.''''

The AMA Awards are bestowed by the AMA Board of Directors; the recipient of the 2006 AMA Award for Public Service will be announced in the coming weeks. For a complete history of AMA honors and awards, visit http://www.amadirectlink.com/whatis/awards.asp.
